Lanecya ‘Spice’ Callahan
Painter, colour lover, and full-time magician of blank canvases. I’m currently working on my BFA at MassArt and spending as much time as I can in my Allston studio, where I’ve been cooking up a new series - 30 paintings deep and counting. My work mixes bold colour, emotional storytelling, and a bit of surreal mystery (think: Alice in Wonderland meets real life). I’m all about art that makes you feel something.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, I’ve lived a few lives: foster kid, Marine, teen guardian to my brothers, and now proud mom, sister, and artist. I picked up painting in art therapy after my service and never stopped. These days I’m dreaming in murals, zines, and big shows that speak to identity, memory, and what home really means.
